Looping the Loops

Many anglers have found the advantages of RIO's interchangeable tip lines. It makes sense for the traveling angler to be equipped with one rod, reel and line and a bunch of tips that can be changed as conditions change.

However there is a right way and a wrong way to loop the tips to the body. The correct way is to thread the body loop through the tiploop, then thread the end of the tip through the body loop. This will give you a nice neat footprint (looking like a reef knot) that will slide through the guides easily.

If you do it the other way round, namely thread the tip loop through the body loop, then the end of the tip back through its own loop, you will be left with a much bigger footprint that can snag in the guides.
